Kari Anderson was born in Decorah, Iowa and is of Scandinavian ancestry. She has been painting in watercolor for about the past 25 years, most of that time in Door County. Her favorite subjects are wintery landscapes, and abstract florals. Prints from her whimsical "tomte" series and Door County Lighthouse series remain favorites of collectors who follow her work. Her distinctive, fluid watercolor style makes her the most recognizable watercolor artist in Door County.
